Toby Makin, General Manager of Australia Food and Fibre Kooramba Cotton Gin, bought a new JCB 13 tonne excavator in November last year. He has already noticed a 20% improvement in cycle times using the JS 130LC compared to his previous excavator.
Toby bought the 13 tonne excavator specifically for maintenance on the 5,400 ha of cotton developed land in Boomi, northern NSW – namely maintenance on pump sites and patching up small irrigation channels.
“The JS130LC has definitely improved productivity with maintenance on pump sites. Compared to the old machine, it’s about 20% quicker lifting out the pump centre,” Toby says. “Its movements are very fine, which is great for us on pump sites as the maintenance requires really precise movements.”
He adds, “It’s also very smooth in its operations – from moving around the site, slewing left and right and lifting up and down.”
Strength and Durability
Strength and durability come as standard for the JCB 13 tonne excavator.
JCB’s 13 tonne excavator has a reinforced boom and dipper made of high tensile strength steel, with single piece wrapper plates and internal baffle plates for long life durability.
The high strength undercarriage of a JCB 13 tonne excavator uses a fully-welded X frame construction for long-term durability even in the most demanding applications.
A closed box section revolving frame increases strength and reduces stress. It’s also high resistance to impact damage.
The JS130LC excavator has a high- strength rigid upper frame providing maximum durability and support.
JCB’s stiff, durable door design gives great strength and rigidity.
JCB’s quickhitch system makes attachment changing fast and easy.
An optional dozer blade increases versatility for grading.
Simultaneous tracking and excavating is smooth and fast with an intuitive multifunction operation.
This 13 tonne excavator has a solid, stable work platform for fast cycle times.
With a massive 92kN bucket tearout and fast cycle times, this 13 tonne excavator is extremely productive in all applications.
JCB’s innovating hydraulic regeneration system means oil is recycled across the cylinders for faster cycle times and reduced fuel consumption.
A 70/30 front screen split gives JCB 13 tonne excavator’s excellent front visibility. A clear view of the front right track provides easy, safe trench digging and manoeuvring.
An innovative low-level bonnet provides excellent rearward visibility.
The 3.5” colour multi-function display is easy to read in all light conditions, provides instant operational information, and has a customisable home screen.
This 13 tonne excavator creates a quieter working environment inside and out. Because we’ve reduced noise levels to 72dB(A) inside and 99dB(A) outside, you can use the machine at any location, any time.
A large floor area with large high grip pedals gives easy and precise tracking.
The JCB 13 tonne excavator is designed to be low maintenance and easy to service.
The air filter on the JCB130LC excavator is easily accessible, and a double a double-element construction simplifies cleaning.
The filters on this excavator (engine oil, hydraulic oil and fuel) are centrally located for fast, easy servicing.
The engine radiator, hydraulic cooler and intercooler are mounted side by side for individual servicing and easy cleaning.
JCB’s In-Cab Monitory checks engine oil levels, coolant, and system errors on start-up.
